STEM Scholarships

The Unitil Scholarship Fund celebrates some of our community's brightest students in STEM.

We are very proud to announce the 2025 recipients of the Unitil Scholarship Fund. The students plan on pursuing degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) and will use the scholarship for their first year of undergraduate study.

Scholarship Winners

We are very proud to announce the 2025 recipients of the Unitil Scholarship Fund. The Unitil Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 to support students who demonstrate exceptional potential for careers in STEM. This year marks over $450,000 given to students in our local communities. The students plan on pursuing degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) and will use the scholarship for their first year of undergraduate study.

The 2025 student winners are:

  • Bailey Chislett, of Concord, New Hampshire, a graduate of Concord High School, plans to study biomedical science with a medical and veterinary sciences option at the University of New Hampshire.
  • Luke Dorow, of Danville, New Hampshire, a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School, plans to study mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
  • Olivia Rowley, of Townsend, Massachusetts, a graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School, plans to study diagnostic medical sonography at Regis College.
  • Zachary Chau, of Westbrook, Maine, a graduate of Westbrook High School, plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Maine Orono.
  • Mia Higginbotham, of Durham, New Hampshire, a graduate of Oyster River High School, plans to study neuroscience at Scripps College.

As part of the program, a sixth student, the child of a Unitil employee, was also awarded a scholarship. Mason Main of Dover, New Hampshire, a graduate of Dover Senior High School, plans to study computer science and game design at Fitchburg State University.

Since the program’s inception, we have proudly invested over $450,000 in supporting the future leaders of our local communities. It’s truly inspiring to witness the incredible achievements of students from our service territories, and we’re excited to continue empowering the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

We can’t wait to review this year’s applications and celebrate the potential of our local students!

The Unitil Scholarship Fund joins the existing Peter J. Stulgis Scholarship Fund for students from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH.
